dewdrops

glistening in the sun

one foot in front

of the other--

I step closer to you

even the most

gossamer of connections

tether me to you

***

the moon

the stars, the sun

orbital balance

***

your love

was a blanket

for my heart

***

ocean touches sky

at the horizon --

infinity

***

the power of

our words

to lift each other

***

my miles-to-go are

very different now than

fifty years ago

***

when I open

a box of your letters
